Abilar® Wound Balm | For wound treatment

Abilar Wound Balm is a versatile wound salve with scientifically proven effectiveness in the local treatment of wounds and skin damage. Abilar Wound Balm creates an optimal environment for wound healing and forms a barrier against bacteria and yeasts that cause the most typical skin infections. Abilar has been proven to speed up the healing of wounds and reduce irritation in the treated area.

Indications:

  • Wounds, scratches, abrasions
  • Road rashes
  • Bite and puncture wounds
  • Nail fold infection
  • Burn injuries
  • Infected wounds and surgical wounds
  • Chronic and hard-to-heal wounds such as pressure sores, diabetic wounds, leg ulcers
  • Skin cracks: finger tips, heels, around the mouth

The effectiveness of Abilar Wound Balm has been proven in several clinical studies. Abilar Wound Balm is the only resin-based wound care balm classified as a CE-marked Class IIb medical device, guaranteeing high standards of quality and safety for use at home as well as in professional and hospital-level wound care

Not suitable for people sensitive to natural resins.

Clean and dry the affected area before applying Abilar Wound Balm. Apply a thin layer of the balm directly to the wound, skin lesion, crack, burn or abrasion, and cover with a suitable plaster or gauze. Apply Abilar twice daily until the wound has healed.

For chronic or hard-to-heal wounds, apply Abilar directly to the wound and cover with a suitable gauze or other appropriate dressing. Select the dressing according to the type of wound and the amount of wound exudate. For heavily exuding wounds, an absorbent dressing is recommended. Change the dressing according to the usual dressing-change interval for the wound type.

If the wound contains cavities, apply the balm to a gauze ribbon and place it into the wound cavity. Change the balm-coated gauze daily or every other day.

Do not apply the balm to mucous membranes, in or around the eyes or mouth, or use internally.
