Additional info

The affected area to be treated should be washed and cleaned before the application of Abilar Wound Balm. The salve is applied directly onto the wound, skin, cracks, burns or abrasion etc. as a thin layer and covered with a regular plaster or gauze. Apply Abilar twice daily until the skin lesion is healed.

In chronic, hard-to-heal wounds apply Abilar onto the wound and cover it with regular gauze or any dressing you are familiar with. The wound dressing should be selected based on the wound type and the level of wound exudate. If the wound has heavy secretion, the use of absorbing dressing is recommended. The dressing change should be performed according to normal interval used for the wound type. If the wound contains cavities, the salve can be spread onto a gauze ribbon that is used in the wound cavity. The gauze impregnated with the salve should be changed daily or every other day.

How does Abilar Wound Balm work?

Abilar Wound Balm creates an optimal environment for wound healing and forms a barrier against bacteria and yeasts that cause the most typical skin infections. Abilar has been proven to speed up the healing of wounds and reduce irritation in the treated area.

Spruce resin naturally contains antimicrobial compounds that inhibit cell division, preventing bacteria from multiplying. The components of spruce resin interfere with bacterial energy metabolism, preventing the bacteria from surviving and reproducing. This allows the damaged skin to heal and the wound to epithelialize, meaning that new skin forms over and closes the wound.
